The excitement for DC's upcoming movie Superman: Legacy directed by James Gunn has been escalating since the news of its release. While the eccentric style of Gunn's previous films like Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad may not typically fit the Superman franchise, he could be the right director for Superman's much-needed change.

Gunn has based the primary influence of Superman: Legacy on All-Star Superman, a comic series by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. Though the film will feature a younger Superman in his early days as a hero, Gunn has confirmed that All-Star Superman will be the primary influence on the overall tone of the movie.


Superman films have been controversial, with the most recent adaptation featuring a dark and distant character. Fans are eager to see a return to the kind and caring Superman of the past who never gives up fighting for justice. Gunn's fun, heartfelt Superman movie could be the perfect remedy to bring back the joy and wonder that Superman represents.
